“Atmano mokshartham jagad
hitaya cha” – it translates into for my own liberation or all
round development and for the welfare of the society. When
work is undertaken under the guiding light of the above
philosophy, nursing the sick, giving food and clothing to
poor, taking a blood sample, sweeping the floor etc become
worship. And it helps physically or mentally the person who is
served and it helps spiritually the person who serves. This
ideology finds expression through this center’s multifarious
activities. In Ramakrishna Mission, service is not restricted
to a particular type of activity conducted at a particular
time, but is a way of life. |
